Rue’s laidback style centers on many loose-fit t-shirts. Plus, tie-dye and prints were a common feature, along with tailored pants and Converse sneakers.

Rue’s minimalistic look can be explained by her need to forget the past and move on to the future. So, she blends into her surroundings, especially at school, where she wants to remain as hidden as possible.

When Rue chooses to go for a bolder look, it is often in a scene where she is trying something new and straying away from her past self. Rue reconnects with a childhood friend Lexi and new friend Jules in episode five. Her outfit matches the roller rink with acid-washed jeans and a vibrant fitted top. Much like her school style, Rue again blends into her surroundings, but this time in the best possible way because she’s matching the lively ambiance of the roller rink and finally beginning to allow herself to stand out.

Halloween is the one day out of the year where you can be whoever you want to be. So, on Halloween, Rue can be spotted wearing a fitted suit complemented with a bold, smoky eye look, which is featured on many of the female characters throughout the season. She strays from her past self by being more put together for the night, which is the opposite of her character. Rue embodies the image of herself in her head, someone who is more polished because she wishes that for herself.

Zendaya’s Season 1 premiere look is fresh and playful. The tulle added around the dress creates a bubble-like appearance and is the epitome of elegance.

For the Season 2 premiere, Zendaya’s stunning red-carpet look pays homage to iconic ‘90s supermodel Linda Evangelista. The silhouette of the vintage Valentino dress is simple, and the scallops along the bust add just the right touch of sophistication.
