Who are some rising designers we should have an eye on this year?
Kai Collective: I’ve been a fan of this brand for a couple of years now and truly appreciate how the sophistication and designs have continued to elevate. The brand overall is really geared toward ensuring women feel beautiful and confident, and I love how much emphasis is put toward the quality of every piece.
Kendall Miles: I absolutely love a good, quality pair of shoes and am borderline becoming obsessed with this luxury footwear brand! Every line she drops is one of a kind and cannot be duplicated. Super chic, super unique and very much worth the investment. Ten out of 10 recommend.
SUKEINA: This brand has really been catching my eye lately! Their pieces are very edgy and have that tailored look and feel, which fits my personal style to a tee. Everything that I’ve seen them create is incredibly eye-catching and eclectic in its own way. I love when designers take risks and showcase their innovation.

It’s beautiful seeing more Black women dominate the luxury fashion space.
I truly love to see the growth and think people will continue to cement themselves in the luxury fashion world. I think it becomes more comfortable to find your niche when you see others that look like you occupying a certain space. Personally, my goal was never to get into luxury fashion per se, but to simply share the things within my life that brought me joy. As I’ve learned more, grown and evolved throughout my life, the things that I enjoy and like to share have also changed and elevated. It’s really all about being comfortable and confident with yourself so that can always translate to your audience.
What’s one spring accessory you can’t live without?
If you know me, then you know I am a true sunglasses girl! Sunglasses are hands down my favorite accessory to express myself, my mood and my outfit. The perfect pair serves as the cherry on top of a cohesive look, so I definitely can’t live without them.
What’s your favorite activity this season?
Traveling to Washington, D.C., and seeing the cherry blossoms! I’m very much looking forward to taking a nice day cruise on the Potomac (shoutout to one of my favorite boat companies in D.C., Mahogany Yacht Charters) and just soaking up all the springtime vibes.

HIGHLOWLUXXE’S TOP SPRING/SUMMER 2023 TRENDS
Utility Looks 2022 brought back the nostalgic ’90s cargo denim look that everyone absolutely loved. I think the cargo wave will continue this spring but will go way beyond just your normal denim jeans or cargo pants. Th e utility look and feel of baggy yet practical pieces, with neutral tones and lots of pockets, will be the go-to look this season. Th ink cool combat vibes but with a chic appeal for skirts, shirts, jumpsuits and jackets.
Foil Metallics I really like this retro trend and appreciate how the right metallic piece can easily take an understated look to new heights. Leather chrome jackets, over-the-knee boots and even accessories can truly add that ‘casual but extra’ feel to any outfit.
Maxi Dressing If you follow fashion trends, then you know that the mini skirt was the ‘who’s who’ of 2022. I think maxi dresses and skirts will be making a full comeback this spring and will carry us through the summer. They’re easy to dress up or down and offer so much versatility depending on your personal style!
3D Florals I love how designers are bringing their innovation and creativity to life. Gone are the days where floral prints are just one-dimensional and predictable. When it comes to this trend, think more of abstract florals with texture, dimension and depth. The right 3D floral piece can really add a fun, unique flair.
