Luxury hairpiece designer Jennifer Behr and celebrity hairstylist Nai’vasha have teamed up on a collection that honors their artistry and pays homage to female strength. The duo first collaborated back at the 2020 Grammy Awards, at which they designed custom hair accessories for Alicia Keys. From then on, the two have worked together behind the scenes to create one-of-a-kind designs for their clientele.

Now, Behr and Nai’vasha will debut an 11-piece collection that will include headpieces, bobby pins, and other treasures with elements of abstract gold and metal flowers, Swarovski crystal, and brass chains. Their inspiration for the collection celebrates women’s power and beauty, and the duo hopes to allow those who wear their designs to feel their transformative power.

Jennifer Behr launched her hair accessories brand in 2005. Behr’s collection is crafted by hand in New York City. After receiving recognition from Bergdorf Goodman and Henri Bendel, Behr’s brand quickly became a must-have within the hair accessories space. Since then, she has designed custom headpieces for various shoots and events, plus expanded her brand into embellished knit hats and jewelry.

Nai’vasha is the founder and creator of Curl Queen, a collection of rich and nourishing hair care products. Not only is Nai’vasha a business owner, but she is also one of the most sought-after hairstylists for her creativity with naturally curly hair. She has worked with Simone Biles, Lupita Nyong’o, Serena Williams, and other A-listers.

In an official press statement, Nai’vasha states the pieces “are all shapes and structures that resonate with who I am as a person and an artist. The gold leaves remind me of my time growing up in Memphis, while the chains are very much the energy of New York. The headbands, in particular, are intentionally reminiscent of a toughened tiara.”

Regarding working together on the project, Jennifer Behr said, “Collaborating with Nai’vasha is always a joy. She’s so creative and sculptural with her work in hair, and she brings that sensibility to accessories. We expand each other's creativity and inspire each other to experiment with new materials and processes. It’s inspirational to work with someone so knowledgeable about hair as it allows us to create pieces that will be in the hands of someone who will use them to create even more artistry.”
