Through May 13, La Galerie Dior is offering visitors a new visual narrative that illuminates the close relationship between Dior and women. This spellbinding voyage highlights and puts into perspective the birth of Miss Dior, a ready-to-wear line created in 1967 at the instigation of Marc Bohan. A pivotal moment told through the prism of unpublished documents, but above all, conveyed by outfits that channel the energy and allure of the era and reflect the Maison’s desire to dress all women.

Displayed for the first time are striking silhouettes by Kim Jones, notably in the “Artistic Affinities” room, which celebrates the many artistic collaborations initiated by the Artistic Director of the men’s collections, along with looks featuring works of painters and visual artists Raymond Pettibon (for the Winter 2019- 2020 show) and Peter Doig (for Winter 2021-2022). Their bold works draw visitors into the singular narrative fusing Dior style with contemporary art.

Beyond the modern lens, the journey continues with Dior’s 18th-century inspirations unveiled through a selection of ornate gowns, accessories and ornaments, and objects and photographs paying homage to the fascination of Christian Dior for the splendors of the Age of Enlightenment. This admiration was revived with a pleated tulle and lace dress designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri and worn by actress Emilia Schüle in the 2022 series Marie-Antoinette.
From heritage to reinvention, this journey into Dior’s creative soul is a fabulous adventure bridging past, present and timeless allure.
