Over the past few years, Maison Courvoisier has steadily worked on renovating its esteemed property. This month, the most awarded cognac house will reopen its doors to guests worldwide.
The maison collaborated with Gilles & Boissier, an architecture and interior design agency, and a team of local and international artists and artisans to help bring its innovative vision to life.

"We approached this project with pride, blending the chateau's rich heritage with the brand's excellence. Our goal was to honor the Maison's legacy while infusing new energy that reflects Courvoisier's values and future vision. Every detail, including a bench carved from cellar wood, reflects the brand's deep-rooted history”, Gilles & Boissier said of the significant project.
Led by Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier, the agency transformed the five-story Maison Courvoisier to reflect the house’s French heritage (it is located in Jarnac, France) and Courvoisier's savoir-faire. Highlights include a chic red Bar Lounge curated by historian Isabelle Vignon, the Cognac Tasting Room with artwork by French artist François Houtin, and the Dining Room featuring a stunning palissandro marble table and carved wood panels by French artist Zoé Ouvrier, which serves as the centerpiece for exclusive pairing dinners.
“Our legacy is built on rare, exceptional cognacs maturing in our cellars,” shared Maison Courvoisier's Master Blender, Thibaut Hontanx. “The recent restoration provides a perfect backdrop that complements the distinctive character of our blends, much like the Maison itself.”

Along with the grand architectural updates, the overall renovation is unique because it nods to cognac’s distinctive aging process, as seen with the hand-painted walls transitioning from bright hues to deep amber tones. Other artists sprinkled throughout the Maison are: French artists Anne-Charlotte Saliba, Lilian Daubisse and Carole Descordes, Molly Gambardella from the U.S. and Veronique Van der Esch from Belgium.

Access remains limited to the newly renovated Maison. But for those who want to experience it, tours and tastings will be available throughout the year, with exclusive overnight stays arranged at select times. The visitor center will also be open year-round, where guests can savor and bottle cognac from the Master Blender's barrels.

Augustin Depardon, Managing Director of the House of Cognac and Champagne at Campari Group says: "Standing proudly on the Charente River, Maison Courvoisier is a piece of French history that was in need of revival after years of unuse. Maison Courvoisier has been an iconic part of the Cognac region's fabric since 1828, and we are proud of its legacy. This restoration project was about respecting and paying homage to our past while setting a stage for Courvoisier's beautiful future."
