New Beyoncé Music Is Coming In July
Six years, two tours, three children, a musical film and one history-making Coachella performance later and Beyoncé is ready to drop a new album.
Renaissance Act I is set to debut July 29.
The Bey Hive has been stirring for days about the alleged incoming of new Beyoncé music and last night’s change to her website and Instagram confirmed what fans had been hoping for.
On the night of June 15, Beyoncé’s website home page updated to reflect the upcoming album name and the store now offers four types of Renaissance box sets (which notes the cover art and shirt design will be revealed at a later date).
Meanwhile, as of writing, the superstar’s Instagram profile picture is empty, though her bio reads “act i RENAISSANCE 7.29.”
Beyoncé fueled fan hysteria the morning of June 16 by posting images from a newly-revealed British Vogue cover story, which provides more insight into what can be expected from the album. Notoriously known to limit press access, the publication’s editor-in-chief, Edward Enniful, was invited to witness Bey and her family and listen to the new music early.

“Soaring vocals and fierce beats combine and in a split second I’m transported back to the clubs of my youth,” Enniful describes. “I want to get up and start throwing moves. It’s music I love to my core. Music that makes you rise, that turns your mind to cultures and subcultures, to our people past and present, music that will unite so many on the dance floor, music that touches your soul.”
It is clear Beyoncé has been crafting her Lemonade follow up for quite some time. To end the piece, Enniful explains the album-making process “has been long” and that the “pandemic [gave] her far longer to spend thinking and rethinking every decision. Just the way she likes it.”
Renaissance follows up Beyoncé’s massively successful, industry-shaking 2016 visual album. Lemonade spawned 11 MTV VMA nominations; a Peabody Award; four Emmy nominations and two Grammy wins, in addition to endless fan praise and critical acclaim.
