TikTok’s foray into the fashion world has brought about the rise of emerging talent. One such leading force from TikTok is model and style maven Wisdom Kaye. The Houston, Texas native started his TikTok channel in January 2020. Since then, he has gone viral for his “Vogue Challenge,” been named “The Best-Dressed Guy on TikTok,” signed to IMG Models, and made his debut at the Balmain Spring 2022 show at Paris Fashion Week.
His followers have raved about his ability to inject high fashion into the sci-fi scene. Kaye takes films within the Marvel and DC Comics franchise, plus other sci-fi films and TV shows to create exquisite looks based on the characters. Here is a sneak peek of Kaye’s personal style before getting into some looks inspired by the DC and Marvel.
Kaye combines fitted and looser pieces portraying a futuristic tone, along with a hint of retro. He isn’t afraid to play with vibrant colors, nor is he afraid to wear a heel. Many of the shoes he wears in his looks seamlessly tie into the characters’ outfits. Some of the outfits, such as his stylish riff on The Hulk and Spiderman, could be seen as street style wear since this season is all about puffer jackets and loose straight-cut jeans.

In his hero Marvel looks, Kaye uses many jackets and coats to layer over the outfits, specifically his interpretation of the character Nick Fury. In his Captain America take, we see a nod at the past. The flared pants partnered with the cropped jacket and graphic tee, along with pointed black boots, oozes a ‘70s vibe.

The details and accessories shine to complete his mod take on villains. This is especially true with the stringy boots and jeweled rings for his interpretation of the Thanos, the light-shifting pants for Ultron, and the long olive puffer jacket with orange zipper accents for Mysterio.

Moving into the DC Comics world, the editing in this video itself creates a story by adding suspense to the looks. Through his editing, Kaye shifts between the hero and villain archetype. With Kaye creating multiple looks for Batman, Superman, and the Joker, he is showing versatility in his styling while simultaneously showing the evolution of the characters throughout the years.
