Need some tunes as you get ready for that date with your significant other tonight? Today, Vic Mensa released a surprise four-song EP titled Vino Valentino just in time for Valentine's Day. The jam-packed mini-EP features songs for the lovers in all of us. The EP features collaborations with artists Dixson and Malik Yusef, Do Or Die, and Peter CottonTale. Vino Valentino continues to showcase Mensa’s ever-expanding talent as a musician, songwriter, and producer.

The EP is like a musical romance novel filled with love and passion, and of course, Mensa’s signature rhythmic bars. During the production of Vino Valentino, Mensa personally produced the beats for tracks, “D’ussé Tears” featuring Dixson and Malik Yusef and “Can I Call U Baby” featuring co-collaborator Peter CottonTale. On “Alone Wit U” and “Cancer (Interlude),” Mensa teamed up with producer Stefan Ponce.

Mensa releases Vino Valentino after his acclaimed 2021 I TAPE release – the latter of which garnered praise for its honest lyrical depiction of the “American dream.” “Shelter,” a dynamic standout track from the album, features Chance the Rapper and Wyclef Jean. The title addresses the civil injustices that impact many in single minority communities. This record was only one of the many moments where Mensa shined last year. Some other highlights include high profile interviews with Trevor Noah and Ari Melber, the thrilling performance of “Shelter” on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, a recurring role as Jamal on Lena Waithe’s THE CHI, and hit collaborations with Jaden Smith, Lauren Jauregui, Mr. Hudson, and more. Furthermore, Mensa is known for his philanthropy and social activism as the founder of SaveMoneySaveLife. The charitable foundation is devoted to promoting mental wellness and environmental justice.

Currently, the Chicago native is busy working on the highly anticipated album C TAPE, which will be released later in 2022. This year is gearing up to be one for the books for Mensa, and we can’t wait for him to deliver.
